We are human beings who happen to be good architects.
Why do we call Omni Architects an academic practice? Because architecture is never static, and neither are we. Several of our team members teach at the University of Kentucky College of Design, giving us a direct connection to fresh ideas, evolving technologies, and the energy of the next generation of architects. Teaching allows us to give back to the profession, but it also keeps us sharp—constantly engaging with new perspectives on materiality, form, and process. Being an academic practice also means we never stop learning. We share lessons from the field, pass down technical expertise, and find inspiration in the incredible work of others. We’re always in pursuit of what’s next—because staying curious makes us better architects and leads to better projects.
We have an open studio where everyone plays an important role. Our design process is intentionally collaborative — all ideas and perspectives are heard. We focus on serious research and serious play (Legos, anyone?). Big or small, we believe making an impact is what it’s all about.

We think about people first
We are optimistic and realistic about designing a better future. We’re honest. We celebrate with our clients and each other.
We can create something better
Our knowledge, our process, our creativity lead the way. We commit to big and small ideas that make an impact and build strong communities.
To be present, you must listen
Behind every decision is relentless thought and research. Our accuracy and warmth work together on purpose.
Architecture is collaboration
Together, we are part of something bigger — where everyone has an idea, everyone makes decisions, everyone creates, and everyone learns.
Yes, we judge every building we see.
We are a collective of creators. We are artists, musicians, railroad enthusiasts, athletes, dog people, cat people, foodies, junk foodies, scholars, adventurers, moms, and dads. And we all have a burning desire to create meaningful architecture for our communities. We talk about architecture, we read about architecture, we look at other people’s architecture, and we visit interesting architecture. Because the more we feel inspired, the more our work inspires.

We think we’re pretty great to work with.

A collaborative experience.
Our process is collaborative and intentional, inviting all stakeholders to the table — design team members, owners, users, custodians — with the level of participation customized to the clients’ preferences. No cookie-cutters, no boilerplate, no one-size-fits-all here. We listen to understand, asking lots of questions and gathering data from numerous questionnaires, calculations, and our informed experiences. We uncover every challenge, big or small, to develop the right program and design for each project and client. We aren’t afraid to get creative, assign homework, or say no if it means keeping the project within budget and on schedule.
We also think a lot about the future. We care about the health of our planet and the viability of construction means and methodologies. Sustainability is simply another layer of our design process.
