The Taylor County Health Department had become landlocked on their old location and chose to relocate on Campbellsville’s Highway 3350 Bypass. The new building, as programmed and designed by Omni, doubles the size of the previous facility and upgrades the operational and aesthetic aspects to current standards. The new facility expands and enhances the waiting and reception/registration areas and experience. Exam rooms and nurses offices were more than doubled in number. A nurses station was added and the lab was enlarged.

The building contains new consultation rooms, a new isolation unit for TB patients, a new conference room, and a combination kitchen/break room. In addition to patient areas of the building, there are offices and storage areas for several outreach programs. The new building is handicap accessible and is designed to be easily expanded in the future. Heating and cooling is provided by an energy-saving geothermal heat pump system.
