Omni designed multiple projects for the Lucille Parker Markey Cancer Center, a $41 million project comprised of four buildings: the Ben Roach Patient Care Facility, the Davis Mills MRI & Spectroscopy Center, the D.E. Combs Cancer Research Building, and the Women’s Cancer Facility.
The Dr. Ben Roach Patient Care Facility has patient and exam rooms, out-patient treatment, consultation and conference rooms, nuclear medicine, community services, administrative offices, and a facility director’s lab.
The Davis Mills MRI & Spectroscopy Center includes clinical and research MRI suites as well as laboratories for chemistry, pathology, tissue/organ, animal procedure, animal storage, and bio-med workshops. To make this building and its large magnets less intimidating to the patients, the largest magnet was located slightly below grade.
