KCTCS opens newest AMIT

The expansion of the workforce training facilities at the BCTC Danville Campus is now complete and training new students.
The Kentucky Community & Technical College System has opened its newest Advanced Manufacturing and Information Technology Center , located on the BCTC Danville, Kentucky campus. The expansion of the Danville campus was initiated as part of Kentucky Education Workforce & Development Cabinet’s Kentucky Work Ready Skills Initiative.
The 13,655 gross square foot AMC addition includes high bay training spaces, new general education and computer classrooms, and collaboration zones. This addition also houses additional restroom and service functions to complement the existing building.
The Omni team identified the location of the addition through a a site planning exercise that evaluated the current parking areas and anticipated the future growth of the campus. The location reinforces the existing loading dock function and highlights a secondary entrance that focuses on the AMC functions.
Programs in the expanded facility include Advanced Manufacturing Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technology, and Electrical Technology.
