Sharing Kentucky’s Workforce Training Success with Mississippi Delegation
Omni Architects was proud to host a delegation from Mississippi for a tour of several workforce training centers designed by our team for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). The purpose of the visit was to demonstrate how these facilities have transformed advanced manufacturing education in Kentucky and to inspire the development of a similar facility in Mississippi.
The visiting group included representatives from East Central Community College (ECCC), the City of Carthage, and Jackson-based Canizaro Cawthon Davis (CCD) Architects—Omni’s design partners for the forthcoming Leake County Workforce Training Center in Carthage, Mississippi.
The Kentucky tour provided the group with firsthand insight into how thoughtfully designed environments can directly support technical education and regional economic growth. By exploring a selection of centers designed by Omni in Rowan, Montgomery, Scott, and Jefferson counties, the delegation was able to observe design strategies that foster collaboration, adaptability, and hands-on learning—hallmarks of Omni’s approach to workforce training facilities.
“Kentucky, and KCTCS in particular, has become a leader in preparing skilled workers for today’s advanced manufacturing economy,” said Chad Gallas, AIA, Partner in Omni Architects and workforce training facility programmer. “We’re excited to share this expertise and help Mississippi establish a facility that will serve as a catalyst for education, industry partnership, and community development.”
Omni Architects is honored to collaborate with CCD Architects, ECCC, and the City of Carthage on this transformative project. The Leake County Workforce Training Center will build upon Kentucky’s proven model of success, creating a flexible, future-ready learning environment that supports Mississippi’s growing manufacturing and technology sectors.
